To Our Patients: A COVID-19 Announcement
Dr. Brian and Dr. Karen Herman have discussed at length the best way to move forward through this uncharted territory brought on by the spread of COVID-19.
As Doctors, the best recommendation we can make for our communities is to USE the recommended mitigation methods that have been described numerous times in recent days- social distancing and keeping yourself and your families home to help prevent community spread of the virus.
With this in mind, we have decided to reschedule our appointments for 2 weeks and limit the hours that our office is open, limiting the exposure of our staff and their families to illness. We will continue to monitor our email, phones, and social media if you have questions. If you are in need of contact lenses or glasses, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via one of those methods and we will be in contact with you to help. We WILL be available in the event of an ocular emergency. We urge you to contact our office in the event of an ocular emergency and NOT the emergency room to allow the hospital to use its resources in the best way possible.
Please know that much thought and worry has gone into this decision. As small business owners, we worry about the financial implications of this decision, but when weighed against the potential risks to all of our families as well as all of our patients who fall into higher-risk categories, we know this is the best decision we can make at this time.
We are looking forward to being back and able to serve you as your local eye doctors. In the meantime, please seriously consider staying home when possible, practicing social distancing when you are out, and as always- wash your hands. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
We will be closing at 5:00pm Wednesday, open 9:00am-1:00pm on Thursday in Bloomer only, Open 9:00am-5:00pm Friday in Chetek only.
Emergency contact information is available from the staff at the offices or on the voice mail.
